Finally its here... the big one... the one you've all been waiting for...
Yeah ok, so its not that highly anticipated maybe, although the film its self certainly was, but anyway, Tim and I decided to review it and heres what happened.
It was December and I was down in the beautiful County of Waterford for the Winterval Christmas Festival. I was filming a vlog of the day, it was already my second time there and my second vlog filming the festival. Thats right folks, it was so good I had to come back for more. Plus there was gluten free Indian and I'm not going to turn that down anytime soon! (I'm Coeliac)
We had decided that day to drive up to Dublin and watch the new film in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre's Vue Cinema.
They have these incredible reclining seats and ooh baby do they make watching a film comfortable!!
We were very tired at this point and, although we were very excited to see the film, both being big fans of the original starwars, we came out of the cinema feeling a bit ambivalent. Neither of us could really make our minds up about how we felt and it was a little discouraging. We chatted about it on the journey back up to County Down but we couldn't come to a decent conclusion. The following day we filmed a review of the film, but... if we were honest... we weren't sure how we felt and after much rambling we finished filming.
However I remained hopeful that with the magic of editing it could be retrieved. When I looked back over some of the footage however I wished we had had something better to say than, 'we don't know how we feel about this film.'
THEN DISASTER!!! - A few days later, having still not gotten around to editing the footage I decided to film another video for my channel, but half way through the memory card was full and I quickly deleted off the footage I had already put on my mac, or so I thought. A split second later I realised I hadn't transferred it yet and the footage of the review was forever gone.
A quick phone call to Tim to relay the news followed but he was a lot more positive than me, 'lets watch it again and then make a new review,' he suggested, so thats exactly what we decided to do. Tim came up to see me and we hurried down to the cinema to watch the film again, for a second time.
WOW!!! The whole experience was so different, I wasn't tired and having already seen it once before I understood where they were going with a lot of the fast planet hopping that fills the first 20 minutes or so of the film. We came out this time, certain we could do a really good review. I'll not say how we felt here, after all we spent new years eve filming it for you, so you can watch it and see our greatly different, but much better review, for yourself.
So, in conclusion, I wasn't an idiot for accidentally deleting the footage, I was a secret genius, I just didn't know it... or thats what I tell myself anyway :P
